Benjamin had his photo session today! Tonya from Tonya Pro Photography came over for a newborn session today! Benjain started off a little fussy(needed some food) But after a couple snacks, and a few minutes of cuddling, he was out like a light. We were able to do some neat shots with him! Tonya is awesome at what she does! I highly recommend her to anyone!

Benjamin day 6
Benjamin has been doing quite well in his first week of life. Some of his first moments (some big, some not so big) have been as follows: Riding in a car (Day 3), Sleeping for more than an hour at night (Day5/6), Going to the grocery store (day6).
Benjamin seems to get the hiccups quite frequently, is that common for newborns? Speaking of newborns, Benjamin does not fit in the 0-3 month clothes yet, he swims in them! So we had to go buy a bunch of newborn outfits for him.
We are going to take a picture every Friday next to Jennifer's teddy bear George. So we will get to see his progression!
Having a child is such a gift
One to call your own
A little reflection of yourself
With a little smile
A little Hand
Just one to make your day just a little bit brighter.
From the moment we saw him we fell in love
Those tiny little hands
That tiny little nose
That little cute little smile
Even beyond the pictures
Beyond the videos
And beyond all the momentos of his first hours
But the memories of our first born
Is something we wil never ever forget!
Tomorrow Benjamin will venture to his first christmas party.
Many a kisses and pinches of the cheek will be had.

new addition
Baby Heeres
December 3rd 2010:
Woke up at 4:00 to Jennifer saying her water broke.
Jason did have a sick stomach at three am. Probably nerves. Jen went
down and woke her parents while Jason called his parents next door.
Told Mom H there was only one reason to call her this early in the
morning, and that was "we are headed to the hospital !."
We left for the hospital at 4:30, with Mom(Marlene) and Dad(Roger) Heeres behind us
and Mommy(Nancy Cain) and Daddy(Chuck Cain) behind them. Our babies entourage! The
temperature was 14 degrees outside with frost on the windshields.
Daddy helped scrape the ice of the windshield. It was a clear sparkly
night with a fingernail moon and Venus chasing it. Jennifer got into the hospital
bed with monitors for her and baby. She got all prepped, and then
Mommy came in and was there until baby was born.
Jason, Mom H, Dad H and Daddy all went down for breakfast. It was
good. Jen and Momy were watching tv. At 8:45 Mom and Dad H went home
for a bit. At 8:55 they administered the epideral. Mommy and Jason
waited in the waiting room. At 11am baby was getting close. Jason and Jen
tried to get some rest. The nurse said baby might come around
5pm(that was at 11:30). Jen and Jason took a short nap. At noon baby was getting closer.
Jason woke and went with Mom and Dad H to culvers. While Jason was gone Jen
had a measurement and was ten cm. Upon arriving to the parking lot Jen
called Jason and told him to come back. Jason quickly got food but
never got to eat it until later. Mommy went to get food and the nurse
decided Jen neded to push. "Ahhh where is mommy!?!"
Texted her: Please Come
After pushing for an hour and a half, with. little help from the
vacuum extractor, Benjamin was born at 2:57pm weighing 7 lbs 8 oz.
Measuring 20 1/2 " long. His apgar score was 9 & 9.
Jennifers first reaction: "Aww my Baby!!!"
Jason's first reaction: "He is my son!, and now to find out who he looks like"
The Doctor asked if he wanted to cut the umbilical cord. He responded very quickly and thought it was such an awesome experience. He got to save the scissors as well.
After we saw our newborn son for the first time, they brought him over to the warming tray.
That moment was probably the best moment a parent will ever have. Atleast it ranks up there!
Jason got to be with Benjamin while they gave him his shots. Jason held his hand the whole time. He did not cry at all! Jason got to see Benjamin and Jennifer at the same time!
Grandma Nan, Grandpa Chuck, Grandma H, and Opa all came in and met Benjamin.
Jennifer and Jason Called Jamie
and Stephanie and all the other friends.
Lynn, Wayne and Kelly came over too cuz they were at Menards(how ironic)Menards is like a mile away from the Hospital.
Benjamin was nice enough to share his birthday with; Brody(2nd cousin whos father shares his birthday with Jason), Darren(friend of Jason)
and Vicky(co-worker of Jasons)
The Nurses and Doctors at the hospital were all amazing! So helpful to Mommy and baby, as well as Daddy too!
We still have yet to decide who Benjamin looks like more. He is still young so he has a few months for us to decide.
I know our first post was of us finding out we were pregnant, and 2nd post is we had a Baby. Don't worry the next post will be before he goes off to college:)
If we get time between changing baby and feeding him, we will try and update about the time during pregnancy and after.
Galena is also getting used to having a small crying child around. She is going to play with neighbors dog now to pass the time.
